The Story
"Bereft of their daughter, they turned to mortals..."
Long ago, the Sun and Moon, Curicaveri and Xaratanga, worked with the other gods to maintain life in Sai. They demanded blood sacrifices of the world's people, in so doing ensuring life could continue its balanced cycle through the realms.
But one day they lost a daughter so thoroughly that they cannot even remember her name. How and why she was lost has been forgotten as well. The old gods who once worked with Curicaveri and Xaratanga ignored their roles and left the two to grieve alone. Embittered and heart-broken, the two turned their attention to mortals, offering to adopt any who open their hearts to them. They no longer ask for blood, but have instead found the true source of life the world needs most: Love. Adherents to the adopted parents are asked to open their hearts to the God and Goddess, and to seek their aide appropriately and without conceit, as a child might to their parents. They are also taught to turn their back on those who embrace violence over collaboration, as these people ignore the true teaching of life. |
