The Story
"She wove a better world so we might have a chance..."
This is not the first world to exist. There have been hundreds. Maybe millions. The most we know is that while all of the others were created by gods and beasts, this one, Sai, was made by a person.
Her original name cannot be known, but this world's maker has come to be known as Spiderwoman. Why? Because one day in the old world (now known as the Ashwomb), she was trying to gather berries from a tree, and when she pulled her hand away from the tree a strong, soft string grabbed hold of her. She ran around the tree, trying to remove it from her, but it would not yield. Stuck out beyond her people's cave, night fell, and she feared she would die stuck to this berry tree. But the night passed, and as she traced geometric patterns in the stars, she found the string would tie them together. Eventually she realized she could figure out a way to use this string to build something that could keep her safe. She started with an eight-sided house in the forest, but soon her project expanded as she learned how to better use the string. Eventually she found her way to her people, and helped them cross into a new world through their caves, a new world built for hope, safety, and beauty. Creatures from the Ashwomb tried to follow though. At first, twin warriors sought out and slew these creatures trying to make Sai their home. But eventually these great men fell, and Spiderwoman fled into her people's caves to close them forever to the Ashwomb. Before she fled never to be seen again, though, she taught her people to pursue beauty, harbor hope, and that embracing life over death means you may well have to invent some new ways of living. With all that learned, someone may one day become the Changing Woman, the person who can teach Spiderwoman's people how to live in harmony with all. |

Every one of us is born with a destiny, the most import of which are the woven — those who are chosen from birth to wield magical powers and become spiritual leaders. Our pilgrims travel across the world to visit our sacred holy sites. We will gladly take up the sword to keep them safe from any who would harm them. Only by understanding one's self can we understand the world. The journey of self-discovery is important as it is long and difficult.
